Welcome to the IBEW 242

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, Continuing Education Classes will be offered online for the foreseeable
future. Classes for this coming September and October will be completely online and will be limited to 40
participants. We hope to be able to implement a hybrid program starting in December, which will allow for
both in-person and on-line instruction. Currently, you will only be able to register for the online portion of
each class. Once we are able, we will open registration for in-person instruction.

Registration for this year’s classes will be done completely on-line. Here are the steps for registering through
the TradeSchool Web Services system:

1) Visit

2) Set up a new account OR if you have an email on file from a previous class, you will need to reset your
password. We have provided detailed instructions below.

3) Once you have logged in, click “Class Schedule” and select the classes you would like to register for.
Please see attached detailed instructions.

a. Please note: if you have just set up a new account, you may be requested to supply payment
method to register for class. Do not supply a payment method. Please contact Sam at the
Apprenticeship Office at 218-722-8115 or to have her update your
account. Once that is done, you will be able to register for the class at no charge.

4) Once you have registered for the class, you will receive a web receipt of your registration.

5) Two days before the start of class, you will receive an email with your log-in information.

6) Once class is complete, certificates will be emailed to you.

Please note, that in order to comply with state guidelines regarding on-line participation:

1) Please log into the class at least 15 minutes before scheduled start time.

2) You will need to log-in to class via tablet, laptop, smart phone, or desktop computer with a web
enabled camera and microphone.

3) You will need to appear on camera during the entirety of class, except during scheduled breaks.
Participants who are not actively engaged (not on camera) will be removed from class and will not
receive credit for the class.

We appreciate your patience as we contend with this new normal. As you go through the registration process,

To Set Up Your Account:

If you have an e-mail on file, please follow the below instructions. If you do not have an e-mail on file with our
office, please contact Sam Dugan at or call (218) 722-8115. Once your e-mail is
entered into our software system, you will be able to follow the below step to access your account and register
for continuing education classes.


2. Enter E-mail Address and Security Answer (Use the e-mail address that I sent these instructions to)

3. Check E-Mail & Follow instructions in email

4. Log in with your email and new password.

TradeSchool Web Services Overview
Instructions to register for Continuing Education Code Classes:

1. Click the CLASS SCHEDULE Tab. The Class Schedule tab displays all classes available for registration.
242 and 294 members can register for classes for free. Non-members can register for a $100 fee.

2. Click on the class you want to register for. Then click the Green Shopping Cart to add the class to your
Class Cart.

3. Click Proceed to checkout

4. Click I agree.

a. Members, Click Sign Up Now.
b. Non-Members, Click Pay and Sign Up Now. Then, enter payment information when prompted.

5. You will receive a Web Receipt as a registration confirmation.

6. If you register for an online class, you will receive an e-mail with instructions for access two days
before class is scheduled.

7. If you are a member of Local Union #242 or Local Union #294 and are prompted to pay for the class,
please stop and contact our office by phone (218) 722-8115 or email so we
can edit/correct your membership information in our software system. Once corrected, return and
complete registration.

8. Certificates will be generated based on the information entered into the My Account Tab. Please visit
the My Account Tab to ensure your license and contact information are up to date. Click Save Changes
after editing or entering your information. Tab allows you to:

a. Update personal/contact information
b. Update Licenses - After updating make sure to click
c. View Certifications
d. View Previous Continuing Education Training
e. View Invoices
f. Build A Resume
